The event I'm telling you about today is a special event, which featured a great protagonist French luxury cosmetics company: Biological research. Their Italian headquarters contacted me in February to organize the Annual convention, an international event that is organized every year in a different Italian region, for the 2024 Liguria had been chosen.
Being entrusted with organizing such a prestigious event was a great honor, so I thought of proposing an exclusive and original location, capable of combining the beauty of our territory with a refined and refined environment: the splendid Abbey of San Fruttuoso of Camogli. The historic Benedictine monastery from the year one thousand is a true pearl of Liguria, place of the heart of the F.A.I. and set in a unique setting, between the woods of the Portofino mountain and the blue sea of Eastern Liguria, accessible only by boat.
As a theme I proposed "La dolce vita", which was received with enthusiasm and allowed me to be very creative. We chose beautiful decorations on the "lemons" theme while the graphic style of the event was created by their trusted graphic designer from Milan.
Being set in the rock inside a splendid bay overlooking the sea, to reach the Abbey I reserved a boat transfer dedicated to guests, with the best Genoese focaccia and prosecco on board, in addition to the welcome kit.
We wanted to evoke the recent history of Italy and Liguria, so I had a beautiful one made available Original Vespa from the 1950s in front of the photoboot to allow guests to take truly evocative photos. A very good one jazz singer accompanied the aperitif with his band, then a surprising one performance of professional dancers on the song “Il Ballo del Mattone”, naturally dressed like in the 60s.
For the gala dinner I selected a traditional menu of typical Ligurian cuisine based on fish and seafood, precisely to make our region known also in its precious culinary aspects. Dinner for i 120 guests took place naturally inside the abbey, with finely set and beautiful tables centerpieces made of majolica and crystal with delicate white flowers and lemons, which I had made by a well-known Ligurian artist.
For after dinner, a splendid sweet table, then “fire show” on the beach with an evocative sax in the background, in the magic of a splendid summer night in one of the most beautiful locations in the world.
The return of guests was always by vaporetto, with the subtle nostalgia that the "dolce vita" always leaves in those who have lived it. A complex evening to organise, for the many permits to request, transfers to bring guests, the furnishings and decorations for the event, the staff for dinner, the musicians with their delicate instruments… But everything was perfect and they are moments that remain in the heart, this exciting adventure left me not only with great professional satisfaction, but the desire to relive again and again what was the "dolce vita".
