Wedding destination: Cecilia & Mikah’s Italian wedding
I have always liked weddings in vineyards, and always wanted to organize one. Finally, this year I had the chance to give free rein to my creativity and I realized Cecilia & Mikah’s wedding.
Cecilia is Italian but lives abroad, Mikah is American. To celebrate their wedding day they chose a wonderful location close to Ovada, called Casa Wallance, a Bed & Breakfast recently refurbished with wide-open spaces perfect for an amazing setting up.
This kind of venue is ideal for wedding destination, since having the possibility of hosting the guests makes the event schedule much simpler and avoids moving from one place to another.
Cecilia & Mikah were a very young couple and together we organized a traditional wedding but with a touch of innovation, starting from wedding invitations, which had been designed by the bride through the creation of a Web site just for the wedding, and sent via email to all guests, who could confirm via Web site their participation to the ceremony.
The wedding stationery was created by using as pattern two eucalyptus branches. The eucalyptus was then used in the flower arrangement. Cecilia & Mikah requested a wedding setting up in boho-country style, characterized by a natural color palette with a touch of copper.
We chose to set the venue with imperial tables, and used dark wooden tables without tablecloth, decorated in the center with a green garland composed by eucalyptus branches and leaves, enriched with white flower spots made of white roses and gypsophilas on the entire length of the table, and white candles to enlighten the atmosphere.
The chosen mise en place was also very simple, we arranged a dove-gray piece of cloth and the under-plate of the same color shade, on the under-plate we then placed the rolled up napkin sealed with the placeholder.
Finally, we wanted to give a touch of color to the mise en place by using fine glasses made of glass, of various colors, and each one different from the other.
The fil rouge of the eucalyptus leaves was also used, of course, for the design of the wedding cake, a delicious wonderful white-glazed tiered cake decorated with eucalyptus leaves and white flowers.
